Mark Twain is credited with saying once said, "Golf is a good walk spoiled".

I respectfully disagree, Mr. Clemens.

In an age dominated by sedentary activities like video games, golf, in my opinion, gives one reason to walk. Sure, it's fun to ride in a golf cart every now and then, but I believe the game of golf is meant to be played on foot. But, if you're going to walk, it's important to equipment yourself with a good stand bag, like the adidas Strike AG. Nothing spoils a good round of golf like a heavy, bulky stand bag.

From adidas Golf:
The adidas Strike AG Stand Bag provides a solution to any storage situation you may encounter so that everything you need on the course is conveniently accessible. This bag features FAS-TEK (Fast Action Snap Technology) which allows golfers easy access to important gear such as cellular phones, rangefinders or other valuables. No longer will you find yourself digging through cluttered bag pockets for something!
adidas Golf sent us a black Strike AG stand bag to review and feature in an Addict Giveaway. And in case you were wondering, yes, we featured in last month's giveaway.

The most important quality of any stand bag is its weight. At 4.3 pounds, the Strike AG puts the light in lightweight. In addition to being lightweight, the Strike AG also features ergonomically correct EVA foam shoulder straps (with velour lining). The design of the shoulder straps evenly distributes the weight of the bag, which makes it feel even lighter. I walked a few rounds with it and nearly forgot I was carrying 14 clubs plus all of my golf accessories (i.e. golf balls, water, Gatorade, etc.).

The Strike AG features a six-way compressed nylon top measuring 7.5" x 11". The dividers extend from top to bottom, which minimizes club contact. The full-length dividers are arranged with one top and one bottom slot and four in the middle (see image on the right for a visual). The Strike AG has six zippered pockets to provide plenty of storage space including a velour-line pocket for your valuables. It also features an insulated water bottle sleeve, an umbrella slot, and a pen holder. The only design change I'd like to see, and it's a personal preference, is an external putter well. The average golfers uses his or her putter more than any other club in their bag, so having a separate divider for your putter would be nice.

If you're in the market for a lightweight, sturdy stand bag, then I'd recommend the adidas Strike AG. It truly is lightweight and it has plenty of space for all of your golf goodies. Don't let a heavy, bulky golf bag spoil a good round of golf. The Strike AG is listed at $179.99 and is available in four color combinations (BL/WH/BL, WH/BL/GD, WH/BL/GR, WH/NY), but you can find it online for less than that. It's available on Golfsmith for $159.99.
