Club From Tee Chart
By Kickntrue on 6/30/09
You asked. We've delivered. We built a cool new chart to show performance of different clubs from the tee.
You can find the new chart in "My Game" and then by clicking "Reports/Charts" on the left hand side menu and then "Club From Tee."
I know a lot of people have been tracking club info off the tee and were wondering when it would all pay off with a slick chart. Well, if you've been keeping track faithfully, you're now going to be rewarded. This chart could open your eyes to what club you should be hitting off the tee to maximize fairways and GIR. You can even limit by hole length so you can see what hole distances you should be using less club on- and when the hole becomes long enough that you have to use a bigger club.
If you're not tracking the right stats to get this data- and want to be, remember you can always click "My Settings" when logged in and adjust the stats you keep. I know I'll be adding a couple new stats back in like distance off the tee!
As always- feedback welcome!

Freaking awesome. I have a feeling after checking this though I should just leave the driver at home, and where is the fun in that?
SWEET UPDATE! thanks guys!
Can I say "neato"?
Great report; keep up the excellent work guys. This report gives me a good reason to start tracking my distance off the tee.
Great report. I know, that my driver isn't the best weapon and know I have prove of it... ;-)
Some idea to improve the distance report. Can you eliminate all zeros to calculate the average. I don't think someone hit 0 yards. It is more likely, that you are not sure, how long the drive was and so you don't insert a length.
bjoern, if you don't know you shouldn't input 0, you should just leave it blank. If you would like us to remove 0s on your account email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
HOORAY! this is awesome and depressing all at the same time

What a COOL and FREE feature.....Thanks
Thanks Oobgolf, great looking chart. I am going to start entering distances to maximise my enjoyment and feed my stat habit.

Great chart guys!! It really showed that I need to work on my 6 and 7 iron tee shots on par threes.
Now, the next chart I would LOVE to see is this same chart, but with the approach club data =] I think approach club is a stat only for addicts, but it would be reallly helpful! Plus, I would assume it would be fairly easy, since you already have the chart, and just need to change the input... (puppy dog face)
Thanks again guys!!!
I see that "Playable Drive" is an addict stat. Could someone describe what this stats shows? Would it be not only did you hit the fairway, but in addition you had an unobstructed shot to the green and weren't forced to get creative?
@woobwoob- that's exactly what it is. We had a lot of requests to mark shots from people that were really good off the tee- just not in the short stuff. You could actually hit a fairway, and not be a playable drive too- if you top-roll it or something but can't reach the green because of it. It's a bit of a subjective stat- but I find it much better than fairway to dertermine good drives vs bad drives.
What do the different colors mean in each bar?
@SingleDigits- if you run the mouse over you'll see- they are the places you've missed the fairway- left/right, if you keep that stat.
Ah, that hit/left/right mouse over is very cool!
This is awesome! The next step is having a breakdown of fairways hit by club on a hole-by-hole basis by course. This would help you pick the club with the best opportunity of hitting the fairway for each hole. Another one would be a scoring average per hole for each tee club. Not trying to underscore all the great effort, just want to put some more suggestions out there.

This is exactly why I started reading the comments to find out if someone had brought this up yet, at minimum if we could seperate it out by course, that would be great. Keep up the good work the stats you guys add every day are phenominal, my pro was really impressed with all the stats I could show him during a round, although not impressed at all with my putting stat. :-)
skip previous comment about seperating it out by course I see that is already built in, the dates are handy as well, since I was able to go back to the start of my lessons and go from there. Thanks again.
WOW!!! That chart will open your eyes. Awesome Job!
nice updates! Now I can see what I need to work on...as if I didn't have enough already. Keep up the great work guys

Great work guys.
A scoring average per club off the tee would be awesome too. That way you can see the raw data of whether or not hitting driver off the tee is worth it.
