Miramar Memorial is the best military golf course in San Diego County. It doesn't have the interesting contour and elevation changes that you'll find at Admiral Baker, but its superior conditioning more than makes up. Nor does it have the oceanside scenery that Sea 'n' Air has, but it sports nearly 400 more yards in total length.
The course at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station can best be described as a very playable course. Its prime feature is its greens: they're nearly always perfect, rolling fast and true. Most of them are very receptive to well struck shots, although the greens at 9 and 18, having been replaced in 1996, are still hard. Most of the greens have some interesting contour, although some are notoriously flat. I believe there are plans to replace the flat ones in the not too distant future.
