Best value for the money. Tough to get on the course during weekend. Weekdays are great. This is a Day fee facility. Play ON!

Beautifully kept (thank you, Army). Some of the cheapest but most crowded golf in town. They're kind of a strange lot at the Barracks. If you call and try to set up a tee time, they act like you're crazy for doing so and aren't too helpful over the phone; but if you go out without a tee time, they act put out that you even bothered to show up. They're reluctant to abide by strict tee times, which results in an unscheduled mass of golfers that crowd the course. This doesn't just happen on weekends, but all the time. With the exception of two holes, everything is a straight shot. No surprises, no challenges. Even the bunkers are placed conveniently out of your way so you seldom have to hit from the sand. The course overall is immaculate. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are great days to play, because they cut the grass every Monday. The greens keeping is what I imagine PGA players play on, and it's some of the most affordable golf around (although Eagles Crossing beats barracks by $1 on 9-hole and 18-hole greens fees on weekdays, and by a few dollars on weekends). If you can get over the cranky staff and have an extra hour to play some really easy, straightforward golf, then Barracks is your place.
