The only way I will ever play Middletown again is if my next round is free... It's ashame, because the course has so much potential. The course is a smartly designed-hilly, tree-line course with sever elevation changes. But the people who run Middletown lack any knowledge of how to nurture a course and have it live up to its potential. The course is riddled with rock sold-dead patches of grass well within the course of play. The tee boxes are no different than the rough. There always is a weirdo junky hanging out on the 11th tee box trying to sell used balls. The greens are the most inconsistent greens I've ever played. Some of the greens are decent but most, including the 16th-their-signature-hole, are no different than putting on a shag carpet. But what's most vexing about Middletown are the people!!! The employees in the pro shop think they are important and come off as geeky.. And worst of all, "the members" are a gaggle of half-dead-senior-citizens who think their little club is Agusta, and they can boss people around.

They do not enforce a pace of play here, so plan on a potentially long round. Short course with small greens. Some of the greens are impossible to play.
