Built upon the site of a working southern rice plantation, Caledonia has been ranked in Golf Magazine's "Top 100 You Can Play" and named one of "America's 100 Greatest Public Courses" by Golf Digest. The course entrance is lined with centuries old live oaks, leading to an antebellum-styled clubhouse, although the course dates to January of 1994 and a design by the late Mike Strantz.

A gem. People aren't lying when they say it's a poor man's Augusta. Stately pines, perfectly manicured holes, gorgeous scenery. It doesn't get any better. The greens are as true as they come. A must-play every single time you're in Myrtle Beach.

Unless you're a member at Augusta National, this may be the best course you get to play. Caledonia is perfectly manicured everywhere. The design is difficult in places, forgiving in others, and enjoyable all the way around. Lots of scenic views and beautiful landscaping provide a memorable experience. If you can play here for less than $150 (we played for less than $100), you're crazy if you don't take advantage of the opportunity to play a true gem.

winter time, great overseed , clean turf , they do a fabulous job

Still one of my favorites in MB based on a beautiful layout and fun course. I am afraid they are getting a little too full of themselves though. We paid $200 to play there this past weekend and it is not worth that. The course was in decent shape but not what you would expect for the price. I am sure I will play it again but not at that rate. Most I would pay is $120.

Nice course but overrated for the price. A little on the short side so not much use for Driver on many holes. I know it's early in year but other courses played in better condition.
Jrmundie - 11/28/11
In my top three courses! Beautiful scenery, lush fairways and fast greens that actually hold.

Best of the best in Myrtle.
