Located on the hills of Percy Warner Park, Harpeth Hills is considered one of Tennessee's top public golf facilities. Originally designed in 1965, the course was rebuilt in 1991.

The par 72 Championship layout is surrounded by a natural wildlife habitat and offers a challenge to golfers of all levels. In 1991 Harpeth Hills became a regional qualifying site for the USGA Public Links Championship.

Harpeth Hills features a challenging layout, with several tees to make a challenge for all golfers. It seems a tad pricy for what you get, but golf in Nashville is more expensive than other similar markets (i.e. Louisville or Lexington). Greens are typically on the slower edge, but certainly faster than the other metro courses. Biggest complaint is it gets too much play on the weekends and can be very slow and hard to get a tee time. Harpeth Hills layout forces you to put the ball in play, missing the fairway makes bogey or worse almost a certainty. The course design eases you in on the first two holes with short par fours that require a fairway wood or long iron off the tee to put you in the fairway and a short iron or wedge into the green. Then the challenge begins from the third hole on. It is not the most scenic course and features several holes near the road. The back nine does have some better views as it runs next to the steeplechase area, but still nothing spectacular. All in all it's a fun, challenging layout (a couple of quirky holes) for a less than ridiculous price. It's worth playing, it's a more challenging walk than expected, but 4 really dumb holes ruin the golf course in addition to two absolutely vanilla par 5's.
