Nice enough course. Don't really like how basically every green is elevated, so missed approaches are imo overly penalized. layout is pretty boring.

Given the drought in Houston over the last summer, the course is in amazing shape. Fairways are green- Occasional burn on the rough. Greens had overseed on 11/12/11, but should roll nicely in the next few weeks.

I have to agree with Neo, the staff, and the players are very rude. I went there two days in a row thinking that on the first day may have just been a bad day. Wrong, the second day was the same. We hade a group of two in front of us they were taking like 5 or 6 shots from the same place. We were waiting on the tee box like ten min. per hole.They were like 110 yrds from the green and could not put one on the green. PRACTICE AT THE RANGE, NOT ON THE COURSE, THAT IS WHAT THE RANGE IS FOR.
I called the clubhouse to complain and was all but told to deal with it. Needless to say I will never play there again,even it is free.

I've never been treated worse at a golf course by both the staff, and the other players. I don't know what it is about this course but we've encountered the rudest players on this course by far one time we almost got hit by the group behind twice and it was on purpose! Low-dollar, low-rent, low-class... whatever it is you want to call it, this is just one course we won't visit again.

Tough to beat The Battleground for the money. New carts with GPS, cleared under trees between some holes, structure around some pond areas, curbing near tee areas... I've been expecting the price to go up, but it hs not. Pretty good test from the tips. General rule here is "Room left, water right".
