Chester W. Ditto Golf Course, located in north Arlington, is one of the most sought after courses in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This challenging, 18-hole, par 72 golf course, offers plush tiff fairways narrowed by trees and accented with white sand bunkers and ponds. A driving range, a practice putting green and a chipping area are offered to complete one's golfing experience. Ditto also offers tournaments and private and group lessons taught by PGA Professionals and Apprentices.

The golf course was named for Chester W. Ditto, a native and life long resident of Arlington, who attended the University of Texas. He was later employed by his father at American Seed Company in Fort Worth. Mr. Ditto was a Mason and a Shriner as well as a member of the Fort Worth Rotary. An active golfer, Mr. Ditto played at what is now known as Meadowbrook Golf Course. Mr. Ditto passed away in 1967. On December 31, 1968 the City of Arlington acquired 164 acres from his widow, Alberta Ditto. The golf course was dedicated on September 19, 1982, and opened for public play in late 1982.

This is not a course I would choose to play again. A five hour plus round on a Saturday is probably not that unusual, but having to put up with poorly maintained greens and dodging balls from players on all the parallel holes was. The greens had been recently aeriated, but had only been partically filled with sand. The greens were about 75% sand (almost no grass)
