Nestled against the hills in south San Jose, this par 71, 6742 yard course is one of the most popular and challenging courses in the Bay Area. Santa Teresa is a pleasingly designed course surrounded by many beautiful trees. Golfers will enjoy the wide fairways, fast greens and strategically placed hazards. Along with the main course, Santa Teresa is home of one of the finest par 3 short courses in Northern California. "Shorty" has water hazards on 4 holes and sand traps abound. "Shorty" is a great place for beginners and seasoned golfers alike to practice their short game. No need to book a tee time, "Shorty" is a walk-on course.

Mostly play the back 9 first thing in the AM. The back has the most interesting holes with the most elevation change and even a par 5 where driver might not be your best play. The greens are always in very good condition, far better than a couple of other courses in the area. The AM back 9 is first come, first serve during the first hour of tee times and is a great way to start your day. The short course is really great for working on your short game and is the only place where water hazards are in play here except for a couple of drainage ditches on the back 9. Staff is great, facilities are excellent.

Pace of play is nearly always an issue, even on week days. A lot of people don't play from the correct tees and I have hardly seen a marshal...

sat, june 14th and I had read a few reviews about this course being slow and not worth it, with a few other bad things... well I have to say to start with the pace of play was awsome, 4.25hrs with a stop at 9... the pro shop staff of keith/scott were great too, gave a few tips about the course and even took care of us as one of our players was late. the course overall was super, the greens were med fast and no divot marks... this course if you haven't played it requires a bit of local knowledge for about 5 holes as you can do better if you know. but if not the card shows pics for that. I have to say the morning was quite and nice and the range is great too, but by the turn it was really busy. they have a nice par 3 course too. now for the clubhouse, the food I had and saw was really well priced and big portions. I had a turkey/cheese for 4.25 and it included potato salad too, nice... I have to say this course is allot of fun and has some really interesting holes and given the condition of the greens and pace of play, it was great... the twilight is the best deal I think, as I was leaving there seemed to be no one on 1st couple of fairways... ps, the only reason I gave it 3 stars for worth the fee, is that there are other courses around that are just a bit cheaper than here for weekend play.

other than the heavy traffic on the course, the course is maintained flawlessly.
