As indicated by the name, Shoreline is a links-style golf course. It is a municipal course run by the City of Mountain View, which took over operations in 1995. Since I only just recently played my first round there (July, 2002), I cannot comment personally on what the course was like before the City took over, but from other comments I've read, the course was in particularly bad shape. However, I can say that right now the course is excellent condition.

Holes are not well framed. Without looking at the map on the scorecard, often you don't know if it's a dogleg right or left from the tee box.
