Every year, PGA pros take to the fairway of famed Harbour Town Golf Links to vie for the champion’s tartan jacket at the Verizon Heritage. Ranked as the #1 course in South Carolina by Golf Magazine, this is the most sought after course to play on Hilton Head Island. Designed by Pete Dye in consultation with Jack Nicklaus, Harbour Town Golf Links is reminiscent of Scottish course of olde. Measuring 6,973 yards from the Heritage tees with a slope of 146, the par-71 course is deceptively short by today's standards and requires perfectly positioned shots, arrow-straight accuracy and unwavering consistency on the part of the player.
Ocean Course
The first golf course on Hilton Head Island, the Ocean Course is a scenic Oceanside experience and a true resort classic. The course was rebuilt in 1995 by Mark McCumber and features the signature oceanfront 15th hole with panoramic water views. Lagoons and bunkers add challenge to the traditionally designed course. Ocean is one of two Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary courses at The Sea Pines Resort.
Heron Point, A New Legend Among Hilton Head Island Golf Courses
After a multimillion-dollar reconstruction project, The Sea Pines Resort is pleased to introduce Heron Point by Pete Dye. Designed by legendary course architect Pete Dye, Heron Point is nothing short of a modern work of art, the centerpiece of any Hilton Head Island golf vacation. Fairways have been reshaped into dramatic angles and shifting elevations -- while surfaces are a mixture of sand, mulch, limestone, and different grasses offering a kaleidoscope of appealing color changes. As the second Hilton Head Island golf course at The Sea Pines Resort designed by Dye, Heron Point lives up to its prestigious reputation with challenging new features.
