Recently ranked #1 in the Myrtle Beach area by Golf Digest and named "Top 100 America's Greatest Public Courses" by Golf Digest 2005-2006, True Blue has lived up to its preopening hype. This well manicured layout features vast fairways and incredible elevations. The rolling terrain and native vegetation of this once thriving indigo and rice plantation makes for one of the most spectacular settings in golf. True Blue is a "must play" on your next visit to Myrtle Beach.

Very nice course. Wide open fairways but you need to be accurate with your approach shots in order to score. Greens are quick, being below the hole is paramount. Some beautiful holes on an impressive piece of property.

another great Strantz course, reminded me a lot of his Royal New Kent and NC courses. Lots of waste areas and visually intimidating but plenty of hitting room. A rollercoaster of a ride.

Amazing course, a must do. I have now played 6 of Mike Strantz courses and this is right up there with Tobacco Road. LOVE IT

Great course. Liked it better than Caledonia. Very good condition for spring. Didn't like waste bunkers in front of greens. More traditional bunkers better there. It was like hitting off cart paths since carts drive right up in front.

one of the better courses in Myrtle Beach. Difficult because of the many hazards. Greens were not as fast as I like.
Jrmundie - 11/28/11
Beautiful course! I had to save some stars for Caledonia though.

This course is every bit as good as Caledonia. Its always in terrific shape and has a ton of great holes. The unraked "bunkers" alluded to by ncramsey are not bunkers but sandy waste areas which of course don't get raked. It is very long but the course is WIDE OPEN. You really have to be hitting awful not to be able to just grip and rip it with your driver. You play caledonia with its tight fairways and jigsaw holes one day and follow up with a day of driving for power with gigantic fairways the next day at True Blue.

This is one of the more difficult courses in the Myrtle Beach area. It's plenty long regardless of the tees you play and there are numerous hazards to negotiate on seemingly every hole. The fairways are wide and inviting off the tee, but if you are struggling with your driver like I did you are in for a long round. I played from the white tees and was forced to use a 7 wood off the tee because my driver continued to fail me. I was forced to hit long iron after long iron into every green which brought each green side bunker into play. This course was loaded with sand. I had 18 bunker shots during my round!! The conditions were disappointing given the cost and the hype. None of the bunkers had appeared to have been raked in weeks (I should know with as many as I was in) and the greens were the roughest I played at the beach. The course layout is challenging with a handful of interesting holes, but is not even in the same league as it's sister course, Caledonia.
