Great course...truly impressed by the upkeep and condition it was in. The greens roll true and the fairways were in great shape as well. It was truly enjoyable to play here.

great pace of play

Good course to walk, if you don't mind crossing the W&OD trail four times. Shorter in length, but a good, run-of-the-mill muni that you can usually walk on and get a round in.

Overall a nice course for after work. It is short and the pace of play moves quickly. There are few times where there are any log jams.
Keep your eyes open and listen for "fore" warnings as the fairways are fingered together especially in the back. (A friend of mine did ignore the "fore" and was hit squarely in the leg off a drive from the hole ahead of us.)
The greens are in ok condition year round. They are fast and slow. Apparently they have a different mower for each green.
The sand is good only at the beginning of the season.
The price is consistent for Northern Virginia.
There is usually no wait. The rangering is fine but there is almost never a wait even on weekends to tee off at any hole and if there is it usually takes care of itself.

One of the easiest and fun to play Public courses in Northern Virginia.

This course is my fall-back when other courses aren't in great shape or if I've played some new courses and want to stay near home.
Staff are always friendly.
Rates are good for non-herndon residents and better for residents.
Very well maintained for a municipal course.
good putting and pitching area for practice after work.
