While there is still snow on the mountain, golfers are testing their skills on our 36 holes of golf. Open year round with two full-service, fully stocked pro shops, the Mountain Greens course is an 18-hole Championship course located near the top of the mountain. The Woodstone Meadows course is an 18-hole Executive course located at the bottom of the mountain.

Our PGA-trained, friendly staff offers private lessons and daily clinics at our new and improved, lighted Driving Range. Club and cart rentals are available at both pro shops. Golf club fitting and repair is also available, as well as gift certificates to treat that special golfer in your life to a great gift.

There are two courses at Massanutten Resort. The tough Mountain Greens and the easier executive course Woodstone Meadows.
Greens/Cart fees for both are $67 for Mountain Greens and $57 for Woodstone. This is too high for either course. Both can be played on the Tee Time Golf Pass for $25 any day and is a good value at this price.

Woodstone Meadows:
This is a nice course for the beginner and those looking to practice their short game. At the base of the mountain, the scenery is rental units on most holes with a few that stretch out into the valley.
The course is in great condition every time I play it, but it does not drain very well. The course has a few Par 5 and Par 4 holes, but most are Par 3s. However, on the Par 3s, the greens are small enough to still present a challenge and are usually well-bunkered.

Mountain Greens:
This course is another story. A few years ago Massanutten redesigned the course and made it extremely tough. Winding through the mountain, the fairways are tight with woods on either side and OOB opportunities are everywhere. Sometimes the fairways slope screwing you even when the ball is in the fairway. There are a few blind shots adding to the difficulty. The real problem with this course is the greens. The undulation on several of them is severe. I'm a firm believer that pins should be placed in an accessible location and undulation should be used as a penalty if you go long or short on your approach. This is not the case here. There are a couple of greens that have a small base at the back of the green and severe undulation on the rest of it. The pin is always placed in this small pocket virtually guaranteeing you have to putt down to the pin. The ball usually rolls to the fringe no matter how slow you hit it.
The course condition is very inconsistent as well. I've played it in the middle of summer and had wonderful conditions, but sometimes in the spring it is in bad shape. There is no consistency.
This course has no business being a resort course for people looking for a casual round of golf while on vacation. If you are looking for a challenge, give it a whirl. However, it is best to hit something other than driver on a good many of the holes as danger more than distance is a problem.
