The 9-hole "McIntyre Park" course at the McIntyre Park Golf Course facility in Charlottesville, Virginia features 2,200 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 33. McIntyre Park golf course opened in 1930. William Heron manages the course as the Golf Professional.
Rate is $5 for all day. The greens are "browns", it is fairly difficult to put on them, and the grass can be pretty tall if it hasn't been mowed recently, but you can't beat the value for $5. The holes are interesting, and even sometimes challenging.
Because of the conditions of the greens, this course doesn't not conform to USGA standards, so please remember that the rating and slope are estimates for the purpose of recording scores. However, in 2008, nearby Meadowcreek Golf Course (managed by the same municipality) will do some maintenance on McIntire Golf Course and conduct a First Tee program for juniors there.
