This 18-hole, parkland-style course opened in 1978 and plays from 4,843 to to 6,635 yards. While some of the terrain is rolling and undulating, it was designed to be a walkable course. The course is owned by the Prince William County Park Authority and operated by Billy Casper's golf course management firm. Prince William GC is located about 45 miles west of Washington DC.
The standard walking rates here are $33 weekdays, $49 weekends and holidays. With a cart, those rates are $42 and $52, respectively.

Overall it is a very nice course. It is not "rangered" effectively at all. I was on the third tee box on Sunday at 540pm in the afternoon...I was on the first tee box at 340pm. I had to skip 5, 6, 7 and 8 to find an open tee box to get moving again before dark.
I see this a lot with Billy Casper managed courses to include the likes of Reston National.
I understand that this is a public course but the pace of play is absolutely ridiculous. I play at Algonkian about every week in the summer and although it is state run and not county run like PWGC it is a night and day experience. Algonkian has experienced rangers that are all too willing to tell slow groups to skip a hole and tell individual players to pick up there ball. They even check to ensure that each player has a divot repair tool on the way out!!!
Next point. The greens would be perfect at PWGC if the players repaired ball marks.
Overall though if you can get out during the week you could finish PWGC in about 3 1/2 hours as it is not too long and certainly not difficult.
If you go on the weekend you have to remember that it is going to be a while.
