Reston, VA 20191-3396, United States
This public-access course is an Ed Ault design that opened in 1970 and is now operated by Billy Casper's golf management firm. However, the course may be in danger of closing; the owners (RN Golf Management LLC) are seeking permission from Fairfax County to build homes over the site, in part the course is close to a new Silver Line rail station.

New management has this course operating at a much better level than prior.
Staff are freindly, course typically in decent shape and the pace has improved significantly. If you get the reston player's card, there's value to be had as wel.

Staff was really nice! Pace of play was a little below average for a Saturday afternoon. The course was expensive and I expected to be playing a course that was in great shape. The fairways were average. The greens were horrible. I'm almost certain they do not roll their greens. When looking at the greens you can see all the foot traffic and the roll of the ball was not predictable. My ball would literally go right when the slope was clearly left due to heavy foot prints throughout the green. Needless to say, you can find many other courses that are in a lot better shape for the same money.

If you want to play at a 1960's country club style course without being at a country club, this layout has the right look and feel (except perhaps for the outdated townhouses hidden off the fairways). A classic, fairly long par-71 that meanders through mature trees and that features very large greens. As noted by others, the pace can be ridiculous and the fees are fairly high, which--by virtue of the course's location--the owners collect regardless. I don't think any one hole stands out as notable, but the stretch of 5-6-7 is probably the best on the course. 12-13 are two long, tough doglegs left.

I truly do not like to play at Reston National. The pace of play is at least 20 minutes per hole.
There is a dry creek bed running throughout the property and the mosquitoes are biblical.
The course is not difficult nor is it well maintained for $80 / round.
Typical Billy Casper run course. Just terrible

Played here for the first time last weekend. Considering the time of the year, I thought the place was in really nice shape. Its nothing fancy, but its well kept and the greens roll true. Really good layout with interesting holes.

Excellent greens at the moment but fairways and rough are spotty. On its busy days the course gets extremely booked and overcrowded. Great hospitality and value.

Very nice golf course. A little pricing for a weekday afternoon round but that seems to be the going rate in D.C.
