Happened to be vacationing right down the road from here and happened to have my clubs with me. When I pulled into the gravel parking lot, I noticed it was completely full. A good sign I figured. After strapping on my shoes, grabbing my clubs and heading towards the pro-shop I was greeted by a really nice lady who was the owner. She wanted to apologize, and let me know they were hosting a tournament. She explained if I could wait an hour, I could then play and probably have the whole course to myself. I agreed, ordered a beer and stepped out to watch the tournament wrap up. It took me about 15 minutes to realize (probably because I wasn't sure what I was looking at) that the tournament being held on the golf course was... A Frisbee Golf Tournament. WTF?! Man you think Golf is a slow sport? Disc golf is ridiculous slow. After the Frisbee Golf Tournament ended. I started out on my round. The fairways were about as good as the lawn in my backyard, but it wasn't horrible. I've played worse. Reminded me of Lincoln Park in SF, or Wikiup in Santa Rosa. The greens were a lot like the ones at Bodega Bay and they were maintained nicely. The course was nice, and besides the group of Mesonite Frisbee Golfers wandering all over the course; the women in floral print spring dresses and the men in jeans with tucked-in flannel shirts (It looked a lot like an Easter Egg hunt it was Easter Weekend). They were constantly in the way, and they looked at me like an alien.
It was a nice outing. I understand there are some real 18-hole courses in the area, but this one was the closest. I needed some casual practice and this place was perfect.
If you visit, get the potato salad. It's pretty good and the proceeds go toward the range nets.
