I've played on this course twice, and each visit left me with a bitter-sweet feeling after each round. I scored a 67 the last time, no thanks to the mats but I'll get to that later.

The course does a good job of using the surrounding hills for it's design. I like how it has both elevated and downhill tee shots. There are also alternative tee boxes that challenges you with narrow openings and longer yardages. The greens were alright when I played (not sandy).

Now the things that makes this course suck for the money spent...

The Tee Mats:
I swing a set of blades, so if I tried to put some spin into the ball, these mats really mess you up. You would need fat bottomed cavity backs and a clean swing to hit off these.

The Grass:
I tried hitting off the grass instead of the mats. The grass is not well kept. There are a lot of dead, dry patches, and full of nasty crab grass. The dirt patches are hard, hard, hard.

For the money (cash only - OMG) there are better Par 3's that costs the same, are well kept, and you tee of on actual grass!

I love practicing on par 3 courses. And I've played this course many times and within one year it has deteriorated.

Poor tee mats provide hard pan type tee shots if you don't use a tee. Greens are sandy and the course is well, crap.

They only accept cash to play - that tells you alot right there, the ball machine is always breaking down and they just raised their prices, and the pace can be dreadful at times.

They have a great teaching pro though and that alone makes this place a good place to play. Ask for john and get a lesson in your game and for sure you'll improve. He should be teaching at a bigger and better track that's for sure.
