![]() Harleysville, PA 19438 www.lederachgolfclub.com 215-513-3034 Lederach Golf Club is Eastern Pennsylvania's newest creation by Reading-based course architect Kelly Blake Moran. The highly-anticipated layout north of Philadelphia just off exit 31 on the Northeast Extension is amid gorgeous rolling farmland and has a decidedly links feel. Lederach’s difficulty won’t be found in forced carries or other modern design gimmicks. Rather, the course will utilize the property’s ample undulations, scenic ridges and sweeping valleys. False fronts, collection areas, grass bunkers and swales are just some of the natural hazards Moran has incorporated into his “land-based” design for Lederach. Course Details

"Never Again" That is what this course should be called. It should be blown up and started over. It is a nice piece of property. The designer wanted it to be similar to Scottish golf but he must have been drinking Scotch when he designed it. I can not tell you how many times I asked myself what he was thinking. I like a challenge but all this does is generate frustration. All it needs is a windmill and a clown mouth and I would understand the concept. I detest this course. It is a miniature golf course on steroids. Silly mounds in the middle of the green, boomerang shaped greens, giant weedy mound right where a good drive should land. A real goofball design. The pro shop staff seemed unfriendly, and the pace of play is awful. Save your money. The Green tees are the typical "White" tees and the White tees are the ladies' tees. Very sneaky, but nice course. Very nice for a public course. Terrible pace of play, took over 5 hours to play on a Thursday afternoon. Saw a Ranger as we got to the 18th tee. Otherwise, nice course. Huge rolling greens, lots of hidden trouble everywhere. Definitely would be much easier the second time around. Had several nice, down the middle tee shots, that ended up in junk that one could not see from the tee. So spend the $1 for the yardage book at the pro shop. Since there are no hole maps on the scorecard or on the tees. One of the nicest courses I have ever played. Rolling, undulating fairways, hidden very firm greens. Top shape. Just excellent. Played there for the first time this morning. Really enjoyed it. Tough test of golf from the tips, with some sloping fairways and fast greens. Course was in excellent condition. Probably Montgomery County's best Public Course. |
