Riverwinds Golf Club

RiverWinds Golf Club opened for play in West Deptford Township with nine holes in June 2002and with all eighteen holes in September 2002. Our links style design measures nearly 7,100 yards from the tournament tees with a par of 72. The course was expertly shaped by Pete Fazio, a member of the world famous golf family. There are five holes that play along the Delaware River with our signature hole #17 playing 156 yards to an island green situated in the river. Large mounding, tall grasses, forgiving fairways, and skyline views of Philadelphia are only a few things that set RiverWinds Golf Club apart from the others. The course was nominated for Golf Digest's Best New Public Course for 2003, and the 2006 Readers Choice Awards for Best North East New Course and Best North East Course.

This course needs a couple more years or so to get right. This might sound crazy, but I expect sand traps to have actual sand in them. What I don't expect is to watch mosquitos hatch from the half water hazard half sand traps that litter this course. The people were friendly which was nice and the scenery was pretty good, you can see Philly and the river on the back 9. But the greens weren't managed well and neither were the sand traps. I hit a couple of balls into sand traps and when I get to them I can't get my ball because I can't see it. It is submerged in water!! What's worse is that mosquitos are hatching at that very moment attempting to bite me. Not happy with this course at all. Might go back in 5 years or so if somebody else writes a review that says they fixed all the problems.

Nice course, but the golf cart paths really need to have all the holes in them filled in. Plus most of the sand traps have no sand, but rather mud!

Thanks to the new owners the course has rebounded from last year when the old owners let it go. Course never seems crowded so we always zip right through and with the tee time pass its cheap, cant beat it!
