Great mountain views. Got a deal online; seemed like a twilight rate. Course was in good shape. Grass on greens were tricky.

Great scenery, in great shape, TERRIBLE pace of play, no walking allowed in the mornings, good value if you book through a third-party internet site.

Tee time was 11:15 on a Saturday. We booked for $55 per person including cart on a third-party website, which I felt was a good value. No range balls included. We asked if we could walk and were informed that no walking is allowed before 3:00 on the weekends or 1:00 during the week.

There are six sets of tees (four men, two women) and most of the groups we saw were playing two tees up from the tips (6900 yards, 71.9/132) which is probably too long for most bogey golfers. However, the next set of tees up only plays 6250 and is rated 68.9/118, so Colorado National would be a better course if they had a middle ground that was better suited for your average weekend warrior.

The pace of play was terrible. It took us five and a half hours to play 18 holes. There was some sort of a women's college practice round that morning and they were still on the course when we teed off. Also, the fact that there were a lot of bogey golfers playing very challenging tees didn't help. We had to wait on pretty much every tee shot and approach and we usually found the group in front of us waiting to tee off on each par 3.

The course was in great shape and the scenery was beautiful. However, we only saw the cart girl maybe twice over the course of the entire round.
