Great Course, live local and been playing here for years. Its much improved recent years, drainage is improving and grounds men really taking care of the greens even throughout the winter. Scorecard says the hardest hole is the 16th.. its not.. Heres my opinion after playing here for about 500 rounds hole by hole... Hardest hole is the 1st, its a long uphill par 4 with a narrow fairway, pond on the left OB on the right with a ditch at a conventient 3 wood distance, if you lay up with an iron off the tee you have a long iron into the green which is easily misable for your second swing of the day, the option is to take a driver off the tee and bash it over the ditch, if your not straight expect a 6 on the card. All the par 3's are fairly easy, just got to pick the right club, nothing much to bother you, just land it straight on and hit straight shots. The par 5's are where to make your score, the 2nd is a MUST birdie, it used to be a par 4 but they changed it to a par 5 years ago. the 9th is a narrow green to hit in 2 but anything there or there abouts you can chip up and down for birdie. All the other par 5's are reachable in 2. There are 2 short par 4's which are also reachable, the 7th is a no drivers or woods allowed off the tee but can reach with a hybrid. On the 10th you are tempted to aim for the black and white post..dont... take your driver and bomb it over, you will end up with a wedge into the green and the fairway is open. The 16th is said to be the hardest because of the tee shot, your surrounded by trees both left and right and you need to hit a straight drive to make it out of the trees, as long as you carry 200 yards straight the fairway opens then its just a mid iron to the green which has no bumkers, its all about the drive, many people struggle and put it in the trees off the tee. The 17th is a very diceiving hole, you think its about an 8 iron, but you'll be suprised how far it is, its a good 6 iron. The 18th is a good finishing par 5, 3 wood off the tee before the ditch then another 3 wood onto the green, should have an eagle chance. Only one negative about the course are the tees, they are very uneven and could go with leveling, other tha that you cant really complain, good shaped holes, good challenge and in good condition
