Great for the kids. Wedges on every hole. Greens are boring and small. Not enough people on the course to be a bother. Simple, quick and inexpensive.

I must admit I have an affinity for Par 3 courses. They're ton's of fun, inexpensive, great for beginners, you can walk them, there's no rush, and they're usually very casual. Cross Creek Golf Club in Atlanta is no exception to this. There are no tee times. You can wear jeans. And for only $22 per person you can play as many rounds in one day as you like. But Cross Creek is very special and has many features that make it stand out compared to other Par 3's. It is the most scenic and beautiful Par 3 course I have been on with ponds and creeks cutting through it with bridges you can walk over. It has a full 18 holes and not just 9 holes like most Par 3's. And the greens were in pretty good shape and were much slower than other Georgia courses I've been on. And there's a restaurant right there above the pro shop. The are really only two cons I can think of. The 1st, 9th, and 18th holes are placed precariously close to one another. This can really affect your confidence when hitting off the tee. A bad hook or a slice and you could literally knock someone in the head about to make a putt on another hole. The second con is similar in that holes 2, 10, and 11 having you teeing off in the direction of either a parking or road. Images in your mind of your ball going into oncoming traffic will have you hitting short on these holes. Better bring your lob wodge. But overall I absolutely loved this course and am planning on going back soon.
