This club was founded in 1910 at a site between Hove and Portslade, but the building of the A27 Brighton Bypass in 1991 forced the club to relocate to a parkland site in the South Downs.
The 18-hole golf course is laid out over rolling chalk downland and is a challenging par 70. Being in one of the warmest and driest parts of the country, coupled with the chalk terrain, the course is always playable.
In 2006, West Hove became only the second in the country to be awarded the GolfMark Award, which identifies and recognizes junior- and beginner-friendly golf facilities.
