This seaside dunes course is one of the few in the United States that offers some legitimate Scottish flavor, but when the wind blows, it is Texas wind -- so shot trajectory is important. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer's architecture firm and opened in 2008.
For the moment, the club is allowing public play, but is expected to go private at some point in the future. Standard rates are $85 weekdays and $90 on weekends.

Very nice course. Played on Saturday morning for $90. Clubhouse is a portable bldg, not impressive. What they saved by not having a clubhouse they poured into the course. The entire course is immaculate. Many blind shots. Be sure to play with someone familiar with course. Very tough if you're off the fairways, primary cut is deep. Anything in rough is gone. Greens were smooth, rolled true. Wouldn't say it's my favorite course, but probably top 10 of courses i've played.

My favorite golf course I have played. Went there about 6 months after it opened and loved every minute of it. Going back in July for a four day getaway weekend w/ a group of ten or so friends. Should be a great time. Very accomodating staff.

Great to see a course of this calibre built in the coastal bend area. Course is in great shape, but almost a little on the easy side, thanks to the really wide fairways. These are hard to miss. The only real grip I have is that I am a walker, at least until the temp gets way up, and walking is discouraged here. They did allow me to walk, but on the 5th tee the marshall came up to me and my partner, who was riding and told us we had to pick it up, that the group behind was to close, we, of course had just played through and he didn't know it.

Again, I love this course. We played it the weekend Arnold Palmer opened the club. It's beautiful and it plays very much like a links course in Ireland and Scotland. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THEY HAVE NOT RATED ANY TEES FOR WOMEN. Honestly, how do they think they're going to get an women's group going if they don't rate any tees for women.
