Designed as the recreational centerpiece of a 1,100-acre residential community, Long Shadow Golf Club at Madison Lakes offers two distinct personalities, both of which will excite the senses and challenge all golfers, regardless of skill level.

The result is a blend of holes carved from wooded land creased with meandering creeks and open, windswept meadows, creating a layout that recalls the great heathland courses of Scotland and Ireland. Bold bunkering and fescue-covered hillocks frame fairways and greens, giving the course a distinctive linksland character within a parkland setting.

This course has a great layout with some very cleverly designed holes. Including a par three that has similarities to #12 at Augusta. With a multitude of tee boxes this course can challenge anyone from a length standpoint (Including the tour pros). The greens on the course are not the best and will hopefully improve with warmer weather. Most greens are very playable although there are some bare spots on a good number of the greens. Some of the spots are due to people not repairing their ballmarks. I would give the course a 5 star rating except for the condition of several of the greens. The layout has similarities to a Scottish links layout with the holes framed mostly by grass bunkers and fairway bunkers. The layout of the course is outstanding and is certainly a course worth playing.

The layout of the course is awesome. You truly get a sense that you are in Scotland playing a links course because of the incredible scenery, numerous bunkers (imagine St. Andrews in GA) and wind coming off of the water. The fairways are decent to good. The greens have not come in from the recent aerification yet so they were very sandy and bumpy today. The back nine has some breathtakingly beautiful holes.

The driving range is great and you get free range balls with your tee time. The clubhouse is not much at the moment. The staff was not extemely helpful and very unorganized.

I really look forward to playing this course again once the greens have come in. This should be an outstanding course once it matures and the play picks up so they can put more money in to it. I would definitely recommend playing the course. You can get discounted rates at
