Windermere Golf Club is located in the scenic Lakes area of northwest England, and opened in 1891 on the B5284 between Bowness-on-Winderemere and Crook. George Lowe did the original 9-hole design, although in 2003 the club rebuilt all eighteen greens to the USGA's tri-layer specification. (The club does use winter greens when poor weather dictates.) Some in the British golf press have reportedly referred to Windermere as a "miniature Gleneagles."
Visitors and societies are welcome with advance arrangement; the summer visitor rates on weekdays are £40/round and £50/day, while on weekends the rates are £45/round and £60/day.

£30 for a course that is challenging and a joy to play.I'd rate this way past 5 on any scale, the tees are well kept, the greens even more so. If you reside in the UK and know the area well then go and play it it's only a mile and a half to the lake which is also a brilliant place after a game of golf to relax.
