The Blue course is a 6,599-yard 18-hole course that was designed by Walter Travis about a century ago. This relatively open course has a few links-style features, given its old-school design.
The White course is a 9-hole executive-length course with par-3s and par-4s that that play to a total of 2,420 yards.
The Red course is 9-hole, par-3 course that is well-suited for beginners and for short-game practice.

The red fox that inhabits the course will take your ball, especially if you hit the fairway -- and that's hilarious. As said by others, the course is a typical muni with a scenic value.

It's a typical muni. It is heavily played. I played last summer for three straight weekends when I was in D.C. on a work assignment. The staff was friendly and helpful. The course is flat and and it was very hot and humid due to its proximity to the Potomac. The scenic value came on the holes in which the Washington Monument was the aiming point in the fairway. The course is not pristine, but it is a good value.
