Beaver Brook's championship-quality golf course is as challenging to the golfer's skill as it is beautiful to the eye. Picturesque views of the Hunterdon Hills and Spruce Run Reservoir are enjoyed from the clubhouse as well as several holes on both nines.
Designed by golf course architect Alex Turnei and constructed in 1966, Beaver Brook is now one of the finest layouts in the area. Stately oaks, maples and other various trees line the fairways and offer a lovely backdrop for appro... [more]

Many of the greens have a lot of slops and are challenging with varied breaks. There are a number of tight fairways and several par 4's require good placement. You have 4 par 5's, 2 to start and 2 to finish.

Nothing special but not terrible. The pace was a little slow but not awful. A couple nice scenic views and not a bad price.

This place was dead so the pace of play was whatever I wanted it to be. Even inside of the clubhouse i waited twenty minutes to pay for greens fees and the course was in desperate need of maintenance.

Fast greens, unpredictable course

Nice Course. Great value for the quality. Would be nicer if they had a driving range. Would definitely come back.

We played at 4 p.m. for $25, a great deal. The guys in clubhouse were helpful and friendly but it doesn't make up for the ULTRA slow pace of play (thank goodness there was 2 of us or we'd both would have needed a tent) or tee boxes that were in bad shape.
I wouldn't pay full price for it but there are dumb-assed New Yorkers that will.

Overall very nice layout with some challenging holes, paid 25.00 in afternoon so price was good. Tee boxes were either great or terrible greens were very slow but we did play late in the day. pace of play was okay only because people let us play thru otherwise I'd still be there.

This was the second time I played the course. Both times I wasn't overly impressed, but it does have some good scenery and some challenging holes. The second time I played it, the course was in a lot better shape then the first time. To see my full review of Beaver Brook as well as other courses go to:

Decent layout but not very well maintained. Pace of play is absolutely horrible, tee times are 8 minutes apart. Rounds can be 6 hours long. Some good views and a few pretty holes but not worth the money (pretty expensive for an average golf course) or the hassle of such a long round.

Wonderful scenery, but an average minus course overall. #s 5, 6 and 15 are beautiful and also are well-designed par 4s that force you to think your way through them.
The par 3s however are eminently forgettable (severely sloped green on #3 is a joke) and the mirror image par 5s (1,2,17 and 18 no less) are about as interesting as watching paint dry, as well as easy. OK at winter rates, but not someplace I'd ever pay prime time rates ($89) to play.
