Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club

Golf has been played here in some form since 1876, although five-time Open champion James Braid oversaw a major redesign of the course from 1932-1935. Locals describe this somewhat low-profile course as enjoyable and challenging; certainly the scenery from certain parts of the course is worth the price of admission. One note: While par from the white and red tees is 71, it is 69 from the yellow tees (holes 4 and 6 play as a par-4).

Visitors are welcome but should book in advance. The standard adult walking rates are £40/round or £56/day on weekdays, then £47/round or £62/day on weekends. Carts/buggies are £22/round or £35/day. Junior, twilight, and multi-day discounts are offered, as are memberships that include reciprocal arrangements at eight other clubs, including Royal Dornoch.
