6401 Kendale Lakes Dr
Miami, FL 33183, United States

Situated in the heart of Miami, this Mark Mahannah masterpiece is considered by many to be the best layout in the South Florida area. Offering golfers 27 holes of challenge and beauty for the best value around.

Purchased in 2001 by the Miccosukee Tribe, the former Miami National Golf Club courses have hosted many LPGA and PGA events, including those attended by Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, among others.

The Club is home to The MICCOSUKEE Championship Nationwide Tour Event. Recently concluding it’s 2nd year, D. J. Trahan shot a 16 under-par bogey free round on Sunday, October 24th to take home the coveted trophy and an exemption in the 2005 Ford Championship at Doral.

Very solid layout. Their rates are reasonable. It seems like they cater well to youth and beginners. Its a nice lil oasis in the middle of the town bike path...with a executive 9, lit (i think) range and big putting green besides its 18 hole championship course. The course can be a real test from back tees as evidenced by the old tournies they used to sponsor. Esp if the wind is up, the rough is up, and u catch it during the 1 month where the greens are slick (seems to b oct, but that is probably just for the tourney they used to host). As with most public (and some private) courses right now i dont think there is a ton of extra money lying around... fairways and rough and bonus flower beds arent a big deal to me. BUT the greens are often being patched, and the bunkers lack consistency. Soft florida sand, no sand/dirt, and coral rocks are all a possiblity. Again its tough on all courses right now and im nit picking... I recommend it. I'd examine the rough and wind conditions of the day, and if either is serious... check my ego and move up a box or 2. There's a big difference in how difficult this course plays from month to month. B prepared. We also keep it a lil lighter and fun in our group/game by moving the ball if we feel a sketchy green patch or bunker rock is a issue. Bomber Jason Kokrak won the last tourney here in 10/11 shooting -20 playing it as a par 71 :0. 2 time PGA Tour winner/short game ninja Jonas Blixt was 2nd. Shocker, that's why I enjoy this course and golf period. There's no one way to skin this cat.

This rating is solely based on the Marlin and Dolphin course. The Barracuda is a 3 star course. The other tracks are 4 stars. If you can avoid the 'Cuda, this course can be a real gem. The course is long, the rough is Doral-like and there's plenty of water and bunkers to keep a player honest. Prepare to lose at least 3 balls, even for a single digit 'capper. The wind can be stiff and expect rain in the afternoon from spring through early fall. Best time is Oct through March.
