The Country Club at Deer Run has had a grand reopening and is now the best kept secret in the Orlando Area. Tif-Eagle greens, lush fairways, and multiple tees ensure an enjoyable, challenging round for players of all levels.

This is a good course with a few challenges sprinkled in. Had a great time playing it, but wish that course maintenance was a little better. A few of the fairways were covered with hardly any grass and a majority of the greens were in disrepair. These things can be fixed in time and will add to what can be a very enjoyable course.

Service at the bar was horrible, 15 minutes to get a hot dog and beer at the turn, not because they were busy tending to customers but because they were busy ignoring me. I know there is more to a golf course but when you have 3 guys waiting on the tee box for you its embarassing. Course has seen better days but compared to other courses around at the price range I'd say its above par. I'd go back but I'd bring my own snack and drinks.

Look I dont ask much from a course other than really the greens being well maintained. As of June/2011 their greens are some of the worst Ive ever seen. Its like putting on the surface of the moon...An the ancient guy the got as the starter has no control over things...absolute circus out there

I play a league night at Deer Run. The greens may be on their way back, but they still need a lot of work. The rough is deep, and pace of play can suffer because it's sometimes tough to find your ball.
If it weren't for league, I would be playing elsewhere as there are much better deals to be had.

For a few years in recent memory, the Deer Run maintenance crew did a fantastic job of nurturing and maintaining the greens at the Country Club at Deer Run in Casselberry, Florida. I remember hitting truly silky-smooth rolls on velvety putting surfaces which seemed to reach speeds of 9 or 10 on the Stimpmeter on dry days. Your putts would roll where you hit them, and because of this I was truly impressed with their greens. This course was a truly great value and I would easily have given it a 4 Star rating considering the greens conditions at the price of only $35 including lunch.
This last winter was a rough one for The Country Club at Deer Run.
In May this year, those high quality greens conditions were only a memory. Most of the greens were all but dead, barely any grass in sight. I was shocked by the dead grass, sand & moldy greens. Deer Run was truly deserving of a 1 Star rating....
HOWEVER, as of today, July 16th, 2010, the greens are well on their way back to those once stellar conditions. A recent aerofication service and other obvious recent care has resuscitated them, and they are now deserving of a 3.5 to 3.75 Star rating. As soon as some of the greens which have been marginally flawed by stubborn diseased sections, Deer Run will deserve that 4 Star rating once again. If you're reading this review in July of 2010... you should go play Deer Run. I had a great time playing the back 9 today, and I'm guessing you'll enjoy playing the entire course.
