Not too challenging unless windy, cute cart girls and decently maintained. Played after a rain storm the previous night and the course drys out well

Links like course, Fomerly a cornfield in the shadow of a prison, not much scenery. Limted bev cart service. Water staions every few holes. Course is open and not overly challenging, unless you play on a windy day. Without many trees to offer protection from the wind, the course plays much tougher. The course is in good shape. Somewhat pricey for what you get as a non resident.

Excellent course and in great shape. Not the toughest courses, but again if you're striking the ball any course can give you a problem. I'm a longer hitter but sometimes not too straight. I ate this course up since I didn't have to punch out at all when I missed the fairway. Overall this course is absolutely fun to play.
Frugalgolfer - 10/5/11
Nice public course, reasonably priced for the area. Had lots of rangers keeping pace & helping look for errant balls. Nice staff and maintenance was great. Looks like it gets lots of play. Drove 40 miles to play and wasn't disappointed. Might play again next year

Irishgolfer436 - 6/18/10
most under-rated golf course in Chicago-land area. never been disappointed.
Gskiba - 5/15/10
When the wind blows the course can be quite challenging, otherwise it is a fairly straightforward layout for the Chicagoland area. Practice area with top notch grass tees is an added bonus.
The Statesville Prison w/ echoing blasts from the shooting range is a fun diversion.
