5 Middle Rd Southampton, 10 SB 02 www.PortroyalGolf.bm +441 234.0974 Owned and operated by the Bermuda Government, Port Royal is a public-access course that opened in 1970 with a design by architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The course underwent redesign/"makeover" by Robert Rulewich, who was part of RTJ Sr.'s design team in 1970, in advance of the PGA of America's "Grand Slam of Golf," an annual post-season event that was held here from 2009 until 2011. The course usually figures into Golf Digest's international list of best public-access courses, while a writer for the New York Times decided that this is Bermuda's finest course overall.
