Yahara Hills Golf Course

With two 18 hole courses it is an attractive place to come and play after work. You can always get on because their leagues don't use the entire course. On the other hand....the last time I was there it was about 90 degrees and we played 13 holes before we saw a beverage cart. The only reason we saw that one was because we called the club house 4 times to request one out to us. To me that completely unacceptable! Granted, they had an outing that day on their other course, but that does not mean you ignore your other customers who pay premium weekend rates to get terrible service. If you don't have the staff...then don't open the other course. Especially when it is 90 degrees and there are no water jugs throughout the course...only hot water fountains that would make a cup of ramen noodles in 2 minutes!

As for upkeep on the course....granted they had a lot of water early in the season, but the course is still in below average condition. A lot of the fairways are burned off or drowned out. I have not seen this problem with any of the other Madison area courses this year and they have seen just as much rain.

Also, the Madison garbage dump is right across the highway from this course....so when the winds are out of the north...you will get to play in the smell of hot garbage all day.

Overall it is an okay course...I prefer to play other courses which are more hospitable and play better which cost less. There is plenty of room for improvement...and with a little effort this could be turned into a 5 star course.
