Colonial Country Club (Deerfield)

Colonial Country Club owns and operates two courses; this par-72 course was carved from a natural woodland area in 1979 and has hosted PGA Tour and Senior Tour qualifying events, seven Mississippi State Opens, and three Mississippi State Amateurs. The USGA has also conducted U.S. Open and U.S. Senior Open qualifiers here, validating the toughness and challenging design. While the bunkers and water hazards present a challenge, the greens were reseeded in 2000 with MiniVerde, a "super dwarf" strain of Bermuda.

The club also maintains their original course in Jackson, seven miles to the south.

Every now and then you'll get behind a 5 or 6 some and that will slow you down. Other then that it's a great course. Good grass in the fairways, and fast/true greens. The course isn't exceptionally long however to score well it requires shot shaping off the tee.
