Rabun County Golf ClubClayton, Georgia - 706/782-5500 www.claytoncityhall.com/golfcourse.htm Golf courses are measured in yards. The Rabun County Golf Club is 2,639 yards long. However the true "measure” of this course is in the character of its people. The course was built in the mist of the great economic depression of the 1930’s. Rabun County citizens provided the seed money to supplement President Roosevelt’s’ offer that the Works Projects Administration build a recreational facility for tourists and citizens. The “Rabun Country Club" (its original name) opened on July 4th, 1940; citizens and tourists immediately fell in love with the magnificent resort consisting of a WPA built swimming pool, outdoor pavilion, clay tennis courts and a 9- hole golf course. Today fortunately the 9-hole golf course and the pavilion (now enclosed) still remain. Course Details Scorecard Reviews/Comments Location 1322 S.
