William Sahm Golf CourseIndianapolis, Indiana - 317-849-0036 www.sahmgolf.com Sahm Golf Course was orignally named North Eastway by the city of Indianapolis. Designed in 1963 by Pete and Alice Dye. Yes, the renowned golf course designer Pete Dye designed Sahm Golf Course. Sahm was one of the first designs he did, after nine holes at El Dorado (Royal Oaks), and 18 holes for the Dr. Harlan Hatcher for the Michigan University. In 1971 Thomas Cooprider moved to Indianapolis from Kokomo to work as an assistant to Larry Bianco at the Country Club of Indianapolis. Tom worked at the country club for two years before moving into the position of Head Golf Professional at South Grove GC, a city owned golf course. After three years at South Grove he was offered the position at Sahm Golf Course (formerly North Eastway Golf Course), that was in 1977. For thirty years Tom Cooprider has strived to make Sahm Golf Course one of the premier courses that the city of Indianapolis has. His belief has always been that the service and the golf course be the best in order to keep the players coming back.
