166 Golf Course Clubhouse
College Park, MD 20740-1700, United States
This 18-hole course is the home venue of the University of Maryland Terrapin men's and women's golf teams and features mature trees lining each fairway. Notable architect George W. Cobb did the original design when the course opened in 1958, while College Park-based architect Bill Love oversaw a renovation / restoration in 2008. A strong junior golf program and teaching academy are an important part of the facility.

First time i went back after the "Nationwide" tournament was it? from what i saw the greens were nicer. fairways not so much. i think on a couple of holes there were 4 different kinds of grass in the fairway. im no grass expert but looked and felt very different, but the greens were nicer. Good course but the tempo was horribly slow, but the greens were nicer.

Staff was friendly, but course conditions were awful. Lots of brown patch, greens were bumpy. Needs a little work.

The course is open now after a yearlong renovation and personally, I'm disappointed. The main renovations were adding more tee boxes (5 sets now instead of 3) and working on the greens (which are much nicer now). The main problem is that it looks like they completely ignored the fairways and the rest of the course. The fairways are in worse shape after a year of no play than they ever have been! This course has potential, but in the shape it's in right now ... disappointing.

I like this one. Price is good, and it's a challenge for me. I can't wait to see what they've done with it in the big re-model.
