1275 Quail Gardens Dr
Encinitas, CA 92024-2368, United States

Encinitas Ranch offers 18 championship holes in a unique setting carved from a magnificent sweep of bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Golfers are greeted by the wide, forgiving fairways of the front nine, but will find the back nine requiring precise tee shots for lower scores. Dramatic elevation changes add excitement to an already challenging course, while four sets of tees accommodate golfers of all levels.

Good Priced Course. Great for the value... Also some tough holes. Definitely recommend it for at least one round

This course is the prime example how business goes bad when it only relies on great location with some of the best views. However, golf business doesn't rely just on that, you have to put more into it so that customers keep coming back, and this is where Encinitas Golf course completely fails. Start off with the golf carts that were probably purchased in the 70s and never upgraded! No GPS, no ball washer or club cleaner, no cooler (all really cheap to install on carts), nothing. When you are paying upwards of $80 on the weekdays, and more than $100 on the weekend, you expect the management to spend some of that money on upgrading their equipment, not just on their salaries and bonuses. Even on the tee boxes you get one ball washer placed between 4 different tees. Fairways are in pretty bad shape, greens are just OK, and they roll only about 8, pretty slow. No marshalls on the weekend, so the pace is superslow, it was 6 hours last Sunday, and if you complaint to the pro-shop about it, you get attitude of indifference. The only reason this course is still in business is because of JC program, if not for that, they would be out of business by now. San Diego golf industry is over-populated, there are plenty of good courses that you can play for the same amount of money (or less) and get much better treatment as a customer and much better value as a golfer.

Seems like a lot of $ to pay for an average course.
