Hello all,
I'm Scott I live in Alexandria, LA. I grew up just north of Atlanta, GA. I am now in Louisiana working as a project manager in Highway & Bridge Construction. Moving here I have Just about given up on golf. Work has really gotten in the way, I used to be about an 8 handicap and now I probably fall somewhere around a 14-15. I do not have the money to join a private course yet but I am looking for some Ideas to find more people to play with.

Some ideas that I had are to start a public golf league, and play 9 holes during the week and 18 on the weekends. I thought of making it a pay as you play deal where there are no fees or memberships it would just be to be able to get tee times ahead of time and just good fun golf.

Growing up in the Atlanta Suburbs everybody played golf. It’s different here! Any Ideas would be great! Thanks for your help and glad to join y’all on here!

You'll probably be able to find some LA-oobers here.

You might consider searching the different "groups" on here to see if there is one some is running in your area.

Guzzlin, That's my kind of golf! Only place I have played in BR is the LSU course, I have 2 little sisters that are at school there and my older brother lives down there. Any suggestions on public courses in that area?

Scott- I also live in the Baton Rouge area and concur with Gil's recomendations.

Do you ever play at the Paragon's course? Tamehka trails or something like that. Played there once and thought it was a great course.

No, I have not played it. We go to the casino down there once every couple of months but I have never played golf down there. I have heard that it was a nice course, but steep on the price.

They were running a special a couple years ago, buy a room and get 2 tickets to the movies they have there and either 1 free spa or 1 free round of golf. I chose the golf.
