Haven't see anything posted recently about enhancements to the oob app (Android or iPhone).

With spring in the air (almost) and golf season fast approaching Very Happy , I was really hoping to see some enhancements before the season started.

The oob app has lots of potential but without the following enhancement(s) the app is unusable, at least for me.

1. Ability to upload the scores of others in my foursome. What good is the ability to input the scores of 3 other golfers if you can't upload them or worse yet, once you save the round you can't even see what the other players scores were.

2. A scorecard view for the entire foursome that you can view during the round and after saving.

Hey oob....Any updates forthcoming Question

Thanks

I'm looking for the same added functions.. here's what I'd love to see, and actually pay for..

Somthing similar to GolfCard scorecard..

I want to be able to upload other's scores to oobgolf under each of their their accounts

I also want to track other players scores and see them on a "scorecard" I can send to others

I also want to be able to, when adding additional players, to be able to add them using a different tee box.. for example, I play whites, my wife plays reds... i'd like to mark score for each of us at their respective tee boxes, and track a handicap adjusted score for us both as well..

Not too much to ask.. had it all with GolfCard.. the oobgolf app needs to come close to GolfCard's functionality for scoring for me to want to use it, and i think if added, it could fetch a good price on Android market too..

First round of the year this weekend with another oob'er. I had to use GolfCard to keep track of our scores and then enter them manually on oob. I love oob and I'm willing to pay but not if I can't track of multiple users.

Am I missing something???

Why have the option to input the scores of other players if they all disappear when you finish the round?

Same here.. was out with my wife again today and used GolfLogix instead.. at least I can view the entire scorecard after and email it if I want to...

GolfLogix costs the same $20/year too..

I have to say I like the interface and input method of OOB golf's android app better, but the abiltiy to see a scorecard for multiple players is a big advantage with GolfLogix, as are the ability to see lay up distances and distances to hazards.

I haven't used OOB's GPS yet though to see how it compares... i wish there was a trial period to see if it works well enough for my local course.

If OOB can make a few updates to support multiplayer scoring better, and allow me to update both mine and my wifes scores to our OOB accounts, I'd be all over donating my $20 there instead of giving it to GolfLogix. Even if it was functionality coming in the next few months I'd be willing to pay now and wait for it, but I haven't read any updates here for quite a while... doesn't sound promising

One other suggestion that I think would be nice to see.

One of the things I do with the OOB App is track my clubs from the tee. It would be nice that if I am playing a course I have played before, I could see what club I used the last time I was at that particular tee.

Would help with club selection and add a bit of a yardage book feel to the app.

I just bought Addict+ and am using the oobgolf app on Android. My initial review is that the app is ok, but it is certainly missing some functionality that I view as essential. My brother was using Golf Card Pro, which has some nice features, but is also lacking in many areas. In my opinion, this area is ripe for the taking as there are no great golf apps out there yet. I am amazed and disappointed at the selection thus far, especially given how long Android has been out now.

Onto what I think is needed:

1) Scorecard view - This was covered above, but cannot be said enough times. Your-Golf actually has a very good handle on this and you could/should just copy what they have done.

2) Email Scores - The oobgolf app allows me to keep score for my foursome, but does not allow me to email my foursome the results. Again, Your-Golf already does this very well, copy what they have and you'll be fine. Just use the built-in Android send-to functions and allow us to email the scorecard to others in our contact list.

3) Foursome Scoring - This can be done much better and in fact needs to be done much better in the oobgolf app. You allow me to keep the score for my foursome, but then at the end of the round, it just seems to disappear. That is unacceptable and you need to have the ability to at least email it as I said above, but you really need to save it to oobgolf.com. I am actually gong to take this a step further and say that you need to allow me to keep score and send it directly to my friends oobgolf accounts. Have some kind of token associated with their ID that I have to input and then save it to their account.

4) Better shot tracking - Again, please refer to Your-Golf for an acceptable way to handle this. I am sure that it can be done better, but you need to have something at least. For example, when I say that I am teeing off with whatever club, make me mark the tee box and then make me mark where it landed. Right now, I am doing to many steps. I mark what club I am using, then I have to go to measure and click start, then I walk to my ball, hit end to find the distance and then have to manually put that distance in. There needs to be a way to automatically put that in. Maybe just put a small button next to the tee off distance that I can hit when teeing off and hit again when I get to the ball and whatever distance it gets can be put in.

There should also be some ability to track all of my shots. I would really like to get an overall view of how I am hitting all of my clubs and this can give that to me. For example, you should be able to track all of my shots and then tell me on average how far I hit my 7 iron. If I am putting in ever club I hit, you will also know how many shots I have and then I can add puts and you can fill in my overall score.

5) Better UI - I am not sure exactly how to put this, but I feel as though there should always be a distance at least to the center of the green in a corner someplace. Put it in the upper right hand corner so I can always see it rather than me having to go to another tab. If I want a more detailed view, I can click it, but at least give me a summary at all times.

6) More GPS info - I am not sure if this is possible, or what needs to be done, but I have seen it in other places. You need to have the GPS distances to other obstacles...sand traps and water mainly.

7) Website Stat Layout - This needs to be laid out better than it is. Right now, you have 3 columns and just list whatever stats I ask for. They are hard to read and follow like that. There are certain stats that go together and you should group them together, toss a newline in there and keep them together. For example, Eagles/Birdies/Pars/Bogies/Double Bogies+ should all be in their own little group together.

That is all that I can think of off the top of my head right now. Will post more if they come up.

Just thought of some additional issues:
1) We need the ability to customize which clubs are in our bag for the selection list. Right now it lists all clubs.

2) On the subject of clubs, I would rather the interface to choose them was all on one screen rather than having to scroll through he whole list.

3) Facebook integration. I know that there is supposed to be some form of this on the site, but it is currently not working. I would like for it to post my round on my wall when I am finished.

Is there an update on the status of the Android app? I can't believe that an app designed to keep score of a golf game doesn't have a scorecard. It's literally insane! Please fix ASAP.

Yeah, I completely agree, there are some very basic features that I think are still missing and I feel as though things are not being updated very quickly. Would love to see more status updates or something, I don't even feel like anyone sees these forum posts.

Still using Golf Card and manually inputting data to oob. What a pain but until the oob app can support the features I put in my original post I don't have much choice.
