I watched an interview with Na Yeon Choi prior to the U.S. Women's Open. I was impressed by the fact that this young woman was comfortable in speaking English for the session. Certainly her grammar is not perfect but she conducted herself well.

It was a surprise to me to see her stomp the field over the past 2 days to win. Pretty gritty response to birdie #11 after butchering #10 for a triple.

I was sort of chuckling over her outfit Saturday (do they allow one to play in the US Open in their pajamas?). Then again, I am hardly Mr. Fashion and maybe Na Yeon's checked pants are 'haute couture'.

Good for her. She definitely deserved the title this year.

I too, was impressed by her interview. Read that she has only in the last year and a half really worked on her english, seems to be working. Was also very impressed by her game. Saw on TV, she made a swing with a wedge that seemed like a slow motion, easy practice swing and ball just took off. She seems to have been in the shadow of Tseng and Miyazato, but is a player who is always near the top of the leaderboard. She must have borrowed those pants from Ian Poulter.

Have always been impressed by this player. Her game I would describe as cool. Consistency is remarkable. Surprised to hear her speaking voice, in that she sounds like a boy going through puberty. Bit of a tom boy I guess, nothing wrong with that, she has a unique style and is easily recognizable from a distance. Like some of the other Asians she appears to be afraid of the sun. What intrigues me is how they wear long sleeves no matter what weather. It must be some kind of special breathable clothing they wear because none ever appear to be bothered by the heat. I would like to check out this stuff because I would wear these magic sleeves. I hate the farmer's tan. But ya, very good player, it was cool to see her fight through her mid-round issues and finish quite strong. One of two players under par for the tournament, the kind of finish you like to see in a US Open.

Agree on the long sleeves. We could all use some magic long sleeves cooling shirts with the weather we have been having.

Check out Page 54-55 in November's Golf Digest. Interview and a nice photo - she cleans up very well.
