When are new clubs released?

I am looking to buy a new driver soon. But I am curious as to when the newest clubs are released. If I can buy last years model when the new ones come out, I can save a couple of bucks. Just not sure if that is anytime soon.

It seems to vary by manufacturer, but typically it's in the spring after the big Merchandise show in Florida. You could probably get a good deal now on an '11 model, or even a '10. Anything within the last couple of years is going to be good.

Golfers are always looking for a magic wand so they are trading in great drivers for the new models when they come out. Try Golfsmith in your area for last years models that are used but in great shape. They will also have an area where you can try all of the clubs before you buy. They also offer free advice that may help.Most of the stores don't work on commission so they will not push higher priced drivers for their benefit.If you are presently using a name brand driver they will take that as a trade in. Seems like the main release is around the time of the Masters, usually a couple of weeks before... and then they do an off-season release (Taylormade is one of these for sure) usually about september. r11 Driver was Mar and then the r11 irons were in september... so i think its a 2 time yearly thing with some manufacturers, but like everyone says, the golf show in florida in the early part of the year is the big release. September is much smaller for sure. Hope that helps.

If you are interested in Titleist, they released their latest 712 series irons in November of 2011. They have new model drivers, fairway woods and hybrids (913D 913F 913H models) already in PGA Tour bags now and from what I have heard directly from Titleist, the new drivers should be in stores in mid-November, while the fairways and hybrids will be a few months later in Jan/Feb at some point.
