Hey G-
Looked at your page looks like you are playing well, that should be encouraging going into the big event.
My game is in flux again this time scores going up right now. I have been doing local tourneys and have a few more planned before the trip. Actually have the chance to play both the Sat and Sun at the beach in tourneys on the weekend before the real event starts on Monday but don't think I will do all that, seems like overkill.

Hey J
I have been practicing very often and will continue to do so but I have no tournament experience which you have. As a minister I am busying on the weekends so I am working on my mental game so that I don't let the nerves get to me. Any advice on tournament play?
Yeah don't over play especially right before monday. I think I am going to play my final round that friday instead of Thursday. Good luck, look forward to meeting all the oober's!

I sent in my official handicap today to the World Am they lowered it by 2% because I don't have any tournament rounds. Have you guys sent your HC in yet?

I'm doing TPC, Shaftsbury Glen, Carolina National, and Arcadian Shores. Never been to any of those. Also doing Indian Wells the Sunday before in a warm up tourney.

I'm pretty happy with the looks of the courses I have lined up. Of course I've heard TPC is nice. The drive up to the one in NC is a little rough - almost 1.5 hrs from the hotel.
I have one friend from my golf league who is also doing the world am, and as it turns out this year we are in the same flight so that's cool.

Mustang6560, I don't know a lot about the Myrtle Beach courses, but Caledonia is considered one of the finest in the state.
Golfsmith7, True Blue is also supposed to be nice and is the little sister course to Caledonia.

Any of you using a range finder or laser finder? Are you formulating a game plan? I think I will be using mostly 5 woods of the tee since I can hit it straighter than my driver and still manage over 250 consistently. I am making myself a little digital pictures of each hole and printing it since I can't use my iphone on the course. At least that is what the world am told me because of the potential to measure wind.
What are you guys doing to prepare?

I've looked over the golf courses online using the Bing maps and Google maps, looked at the scorecards on oob, etc.
Hit a bucket tonite working on my driving, which has been a sore spot. I think I'm on to something but I'm afraid to speak it out loud or might catch some curse or something. But like you, I too plan to play for safe and easy unless it's really green light time.
I'm taking a GPS and might use the laser as well if I can remember to put a new battery in it. Your DIY photo book is a pretty good idea - to see the bunkering, etc. Some of the courses might sell a yardage book with the holes illustrated and measured off too.

If you believe in prayer now would be a good time to begin. I'll be praying Issac fizzle outs.
