for straight putts, aim right at the middle of the cup and youll have the best chance of holing out. even if the putt does go off line a hair or 2, it can still drop in from the sides of the cup. so aim for the middle of the cup for the best results on straight putts. Smile

Thank you very much. Don't know why I hadn't thought of that. Do you have any advice about hitting fairways also?

Only straight fairways. If you aim at the middle, you can still hit the fairway on the left or the right side.

If you aim for the middle of the bunker, you have a better chance of it staying IN the bunker.

While I agree that your statement is a little obvious, I think what i would say is to aim small. Instead of aiming at the cup, aim at a specific spot on the front edge, right in the middle of the cup. I find that this helps me out tremendously. When I setup to put and don't pick out an exact aiming point, my misses are farther from the hole, than when I get focused on a spot.

btw, I do the same thing on the tee. Aiming for the middle of the fairway has proven to be far less effective than picking an exact target.
