LoL No kidding, merlin. He's starting to drive me nuts with his luck. He seriously needs to start investing in lottery tickets. heh

I've yet to hit one, and really doubt I ever will. I did come close last Sunday. Hole is a nice little par 3, tees elevated above the green, about 150yds or so as the crow flies. I teed up one of my hybrids alittle high to take off some distance (in theory, since I'm not that good a golfer it's all a crap shoot), struck it sweet, and as it lands we're all yelling "Get in the hole". Ball rolls right at the hole, curls alittle as it gets near the hole, and i end up with a 1' tap in for birdie. Oh well, it's shots like that that I hit every blue moon that keep me playing the game.

I'll trade 4 of my 5 aces for 4 rounds under 80. I've never shot under 85 when ringing up an ACE. Aces only benefit you when there is a HUGE prize on the line. I haven't won anything yet so i'll keep trying.

I just got my fourth ace! I was on hole 4 at Poston Butte golf club and it was a really windy day! My ball landed just past this bunker short of the green then it rolled up to about 2 feet and i was like Yea i got a birdie putt! but it kept rolling and broke into the cup!!!! i was so happy and then i realized i was playing by myself and i just started swearing my head off!! It was probably the worst hole in one you could ever get!

Kidave strikes again. Out with my new golf buddy, Dunnbrook. His first time on the course and he got to witness the magic.

That makes 6 and 3 in the last 5 months. I just bought Powerball tickets.

Man, I love the story of Kidave's ace off the tree. Best I've ever hit was an eagle on a par 4. Hit an 8-iron 135 yards to the green, ball bounced a bit left off the back of the green-front trap and went into a hole I couldn't see. It was great to find the ball in the cup. It was my second or third round after I took up golf in 2002, on the 18th at Trotter's Glen in Maryland.

But alas, no aces. I share the general jealousy for Kidave's self-made luck.

The 18th at Belle Oaks is a dogleg left with the last 100 yards being over a lake. There are really tall trees on both sides. The only way to have a chance at par is to have the perfect drive to a specific landing area so you can get a look at the green, then hit a shot that almost always has to be a draw to clear the overhanging trees, not too short because the green comes all the way down to the lake and not too long because the shrubs border the back side of the green. Double bogies are very common for the best players. One morning, playing by myself, I hit the second shot kinda low and it rolled 10 feet up the green into the hole. No one had played yet so there were no tracks in the heavy dew except for my ball track starting in the center of the green ending at the hole. I went to the clubhouse and got one of my buddies to come out and look at it. He said "you probably put that ball in there last night with a string on it then drug it out this morning causing that line in the dew". Skeptical bastard. Anyway I know I made an eagle there.
