I was finally able to go out and play after a long winter. Upon entering my score, I realized the scrambling statistic is now an addict only stat.

I understand having additional stats for addicts but I did not realize existing stats for non-addicts were going to be removed. Are there plans to slowly remove other features for non-addicts? I don't suppose those of us that have been around since before the addict feature existed could somehow be grandfathered.

Did I miss this announcement?

Shank,

Thanks for the inquiry- and here is the tough (but real) answer. We had a pretty long debate over the move, but based on a couple factors decided to make it an Addict stat (there was no formal announcement).

Based on our numbers, not that many people were using the stat, especially from our free membership. That with the fact that we weren't getting as many Addict upgrades as we had hoped for helped us make the move. Our business model for the longterm continued success of the site requires a little cashflow. That's the bottom line. It is not our intention of any user to feel screwed over but in the end, Addict is $12/yr, and we feel we offer a service worth that price.

For what its worth- we made the move about 2 months ago- and you're the first person to notice (at least publicly). Scrambling % is a pro-level stat, and we had to categorize it accordingly.

Thanks for understanding,

Andrew and Kevin

Thanks for the response and explanation guys.

I completely agree that the $12 subscription fee for addicts is more than reasonable. You guys do a great job and I certainly don't feel screwed in any way. I just wanted clarification because I thought existing stats would never go away. I understand your reasons and appreciate your honest response.

While I may not have the official label, I typically hit the site at least once a day and I am addicted so thank you for the great site and for the free stats/access that are available to skinflints like me.
